How to choose a sim racing motion platform
Feel the car, not just see it. Here is how to pick the right level for the way you race.
What you will feel
Pitch for braking and acceleration, roll for cornering. Add traction loss to feel the rear step out, or heave for kerbs and bumps.
Pick your level of motion
2DOF gives pitch and roll, the core of motion. 3DOF adds traction loss or heave. 4DOF and above add heave, surge and more for the most complete feel.
Check your rig and space
Some platforms are complete units. Others, like SIMRIG and the ProSimu P-series, bolt to an existing aluminium profile rig. Leave room for it to move.
Budget for the whole setup
Allow for a cockpit, wheelbase, pedals and a PC or VR headset if you do not have them yet. Our UK price guide shows real budgets.

Do I need motion for sim racing?
No, but it adds the cues a screen cannot give you, like weight transfer under braking and the rear stepping out. Our honest guide covers who it suits.
How many DOF do I need?
For most people 2DOF or 3DOF is the sweet spot. You feel braking and cornering, and with 3DOF traction loss or bumps too. Step up to 4DOF or 6DOF for heave and the most complete feel.

Do prices include VAT and delivery?
Yes. Every price includes UK VAT, delivery is free to UK mainland addresses, and there are no import fees to pay when it arrives.
Can I return it?
If something is faulty you get a full refund within 30 days of delivery, or a repair or replacement under warranty after that. We arrange the return. If you change your mind you can cancel within 14 days of delivery. Full returns policy.
