What Does Motion Actually Add?
A motion platform tilts, lifts, and shifts your cockpit in response to what the car is doing in the simulation. The platform reads telemetry data from the game and converts it into physical movement.
Under braking, the platform pitches forward. Through a corner, it rolls to the side. Over a kerb, it drops and lifts. When the rear steps out in a slide, the platform shifts underneath you.
The result is that you stop relying entirely on your eyes and the force feedback through the wheel to understand what the car is doing. Your wheelbase and pedals need upgrading. A £300 belt-drive wheelbase and £80 pedals with a £3,000 motion platform is the wrong order of spending. Get a direct-drive base and load cell pedals first. Then add motion.

Space is an issue. Full motion platforms need roughly 2m x 1.5m of floor space with clearance for tilt.
