Pair your QS-210 or QS-220 actuator set with the QS-Pivot and you unlock a simulated heave sensation that delivers 70-80% of the 3DOF experience without the cost of four actuators. The Pivot combines pitch axis data to create the physical perception of vertical movement. Your body processes it as genuine heave. Kerb strikes, elevation changes, and weight transfer all become physical events through two actuators doing the work of four.

Pitch tilts you forward under braking and backward under acceleration. Roll leans you into corners. The simulated heave adds the vertical dimension that makes road surfaces and track elevation come alive. If full 3DOF is out of budget right now, this is the smartest stepping stone because every component carries forward. When you are ready to upgrade, add a second pair of actuators and a second power cabinet and you have true 3DOF with independent heave. Nothing gets replaced.

The QS-Pivot tricks your vestibular system into perceiving heave from just two actuators. Kerb strikes, elevation changes, and weight transfer all register as vertical movement because of how the Pivot combines pitch data into a simulated third axis. It is not true heave but your body cannot tell the difference at 70-80% fidelity. And when you are ready for 100%, every component carries forward into a full 3DOF upgrade.

Start with two. Upgrade to four.

Every actuator, cable, bracket, controller, and power cabinet in the 2.5DOF set is the same hardware used in the full 3DOF and 5DOF configurations. Nothing is entry-level, nothing gets replaced. When you are ready for true independent heave, add two more actuators and a second power cabinet.

Your original hardware stays exactly where it is and does exactly what it always did, just with two more actuators joining it. Qubic built the modular path so upgrading costs you the difference, not the full price again.

Is the simulated heave the same as true heave?

No. True heave uses four independent actuators to create genuine vertical movement. The QS-Pivot creates the perception of heave by combining pitch axis data. What rig do I need?

Any standard 8020 aluminium profile rig. The set includes mounting brackets and flat face adapters. Steel cockpits and folding rigs are not compatible as they flex under motion forces.

Can I add the QS-CH2 surge platform to this set?

Not directly. The QS-CH2 requires four actuators (3DOF set) as its base. Upgrade to the 3DOF set first, then add the QS-CH2 for 5DOF.

What games does it support?

Qubic Manager software supports 100+ titles including iRacing, ACC, Assetto Corsa, rFactor 2, MSFS, DCS World, X-Plane, and Euro Truck Simulator 2.

How loud is it?

Virtually silent. Qubic's industrial linear actuators are among the quietest motion hardware available. Suitable for flats and shared spaces.

Do you offer installation?

Our products are designed for self-assembly. Full instructions are provided by the manufacturer. Assembly typically takes 2-3 hours for the 2.5DOF and 3DOF sets, and 3-4 hours for the 5DOF set including the QS-CH2 platform. If you need hands-on help, we recommend hiring a local handyman or technician.

What is the warranty?

2-year manufacturer warranty for home use. 1-year warranty for commercial use. Commercial warranty extensions are available on request. Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship.

Can I use this with VR?

Yes. Qubic systems are compatible with all major VR headsets. Motion compensation is supported through third-party tools like OXRMC to keep the virtual horizon locked to the platform movement.

Do I need bass shakers or transducers with this?

No. Qubic actuators include integrated haptics up to 100Hz which deliver road texture, ABS chatter, and surface detail directly through the rig frame. Most users find the built-in haptics eliminate the need for separate shakers entirely.

What power supply do I need?

Standard UK 13A plug socket. Single-phase 230V AC. The power cabinets included with the set handle all power distribution. No special wiring or dedicated circuits needed.

Is it noisy enough to disturb neighbours?
