Pitch tells you the nose is up. Surge tells you the engines are pushing. The DOF Reality H4R adds that fourth axis of physical thrust to the H3R's pitch, roll and yaw, so when you push the throttles forward you feel the seat press, and when you pull them back you feel the float. Four axes of properly flight-tuned motion in a single platform. The R variant brings reducer gearboxes on every motor, which means the long, smooth motions of climb, cruise and approach come through without the harshness a racing-tuned platform would put into them. Built for flight simmers who want a more complete motion envelope than 3DOF gives you, without stepping up to the full six-axis price. Works for sim racing without drawbacks if you cross between disciplines.
- 4DOF of motion: pitch, roll, yaw, surge
- Reducer gearboxes on every motor for smoother slow-speed motion
- Full rig motion. Seat, controls and pedals all move together
- Tuned for flight simulation, works for sim racing without drawbacks
- Works with 100+ flight and sim racing titles (MSFS, X-Plane, DCS, iRacing, AC)
- SimRacing Studio Pro licence included
Configuration: Choose your preferred setup using the options above. Yoke, rudder pedals, throttle and monitor are sourced separately.
Console users: Add the Console Link (MagicBox) variant above if you are running without a PC.

Throttles That Push Back.
Pitch tells you the nose is up. Surge tells you the engines are working. The DOF Reality H4R adds that fourth axis on top of the H3R's pitch, roll and yaw, so when you push the throttles forward you feel the seat-press, and when you pull them back you feel the float. Four axes of flight-tuned motion through one platform.
The reducer gearboxes on every motor mean the long, smooth motions of climb, cruise and approach come through without the harshness a racing-tuned platform would put into them. Built for flight simmers who want a more complete motion envelope than 3DOF gives, without stepping up to the full six-axis price. Ships direct with free UK mainland delivery, 2 to 3 weeks lead time.
Real Aircraft Don't Tilt To Fake Thrust.
Pitch and roll platforms simulate acceleration by tilting forward. Your eyes process it, but your body knows the difference. A real aircraft loads the seat into your back when the throttles open and unloads it when they close. The H4R reproduces that physically. Climb out under full power and the seat presses you rearward. Reduce thrust on approach and the surge axis releases the load the way the airframe would.
Four reducer-gearbox motors moving the entire cockpit in sync with the aircraft, no approximation. Compatible with MSFS, X-Plane, DCS and 100+ flight titles. SimRacing Studio Pro licence included. Sim racing crossover use is fine, no drawbacks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my existing cockpit fit on the platform?
The DOF Reality platforms are designed to be used with the DOF Reality supplied cockpit only. Unlike some motion platforms, they do not have a universal top plate that accepts third party rigs. If you are planning to use a DOF Reality platform, your seat, wheelbase, pedals and monitors will need to be mounted onto the DOF Reality cockpit that comes with the unit. Contact us before ordering if you have any questions about your specific setup.
How long does delivery take?
DOF Reality platforms ship from Poland in batches every two weeks. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks from order to delivery. We will keep you updated throughout.
What software do I need?
SimRacing Studio Pro is included with every platform and handles the motion configuration for over 100 titles including iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, F1, Gran Turismo and more. You download it, connect your game and the platform responds to live telemetry automatically.
Does it work with PlayStation and Xbox?
The platforms are compatible with PC natively. A Console Link add-on is available separately for PlayStation and Xbox compatibility.
What is the noise level like?
24dBA during operation which is roughly equivalent to a quiet fan. The motors are electric and virtually silent. Most customers describe it as quieter than they expected.
What is not included in the box?
Your seat, steering wheel, pedals, monitor and PC are not included when you purchase the Platform Only. The platform ships as a complete unit ready for assembly and all tools needed are included in the box. - There is an option to add a seat and more when choosing product options.
Is the H4R Right For You?
Best For
- Flight simmers wanting a more complete motion envelope than 3DOF without the H6R flagship price
- Buyers who fly heavier aircraft - commercial jets, military fast jets, anything where thrust dynamics dominate the experience
- Anyone who values feeling the seat-press of acceleration and the float of throttle reduction
- Serious MSFS, X-Plane and DCS pilots who've outgrown the H3R's three-axis envelope
Consider the H6R Instead If
- Your budget can stretch to £7,199
- You want every motion cue - sway and heave on top of pitch, roll, yaw and surge
- You're building a dedicated flight setup or training application that benefits from the full envelope
- You want a platform suitable for serious commercial training use
Not Recommended For
- Buyers on a strict £3,300 ceiling - the H3R is the more sensible level
- Light aircraft and GA-only flyers - the surge axis benefit is most felt with thrust-dominant aircraft
- Race-only users - the H4 is the better-suited variant
