A badly set up motion profile, with movements that lag or overshoot or fire at the wrong moment, can make VR sickness worse than no motion at all. Done right, it helps. Done carelessly, it can hurt. In flight sim, the cues are slower and more sustained, but the mismatch in VR can actually be worse, because you spend long periods watching the world bank and pitch while sitting still. A motion platform that eases through those slow movements, matching the gentle roll and pitch of flight, can transform a VR flight session from something you endure into something you forget you are doing. Flight is often where motion plus VR pays off most for comfort, precisely because the still body and moving view problem is so pronounced.

So should you buy one to fix VR sickness

If your VR discomfort comes from the sensory mismatch of moving visuals and a still body, which is the most common cause in sim racing and flight sim, then a well chosen and properly tuned motion platform has a genuinely good chance of helping you, often significantly.

If your discomfort is coming from hardware problems like frame drops or a poor headset fit, fix those first, because motion will not address them.

And if you are highly motion sensitive in general, go in with realistic expectations. Most people improve. A guarantee is not something any honest retailer can give you.
