A gearbox you can feel through your fingertips. The BDH H2SQ is a dual-rail mechanical shifter built the way real race car gearboxes are built: two independent shafts that run in unison for H-pattern and lock apart for sequential. That dual-rail architecture is why single-shaft shifters cannot match it for precision. Every gate is positive, every shift is tactile, and there is zero play anywhere in the mechanism. The feel is drawn straight from Porsche and BMW motorsport gearboxes, and it is handmade in York.
Available in three colourways: Black, Black and Red, and Silver. Select your preferred finish above.

H-pattern and sequential in one unit
Swap between H-pattern and sequential mode without removing the shifter from your rig. The H2SQ puts both gearbox types into a single housing so you go from heel-toeing through the H-gate in a GT car to banging through a sequential box in a rally stage without touching a single bolt.
UK designed and built by BDH. The shift action is mechanical, not electronic. You feel the gates, the resistance, and the engagement through your hand, not a sensor pretending to be a gearbox.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the H2SQ, H1, S1 and Active?
The H2SQ is a dual-rail H-pattern and sequential shifter in one unit. It is the most versatile in the range and suits GT, touring car and rally driving across both modes.
The H1 is a dedicated H-pattern only shifter. All design choices are optimised purely for H-pattern feel, inspired by the Ford Escort MkII rally gearbox. The right choice if you only drive H-pattern cars.
The S1 is a dedicated sequential only shifter with a longer rally-focused shaft. It uses the Dynamic Inertia Mechanism to replicate dog-box engagement physics. Built for rally and drift drivers who want a standalone sequential.
The Active is an H-pattern shifter with servo-driven force feedback. Resistance and feedback are driven by live SimHub telemetry in real time. Gear grind, clutch lock-out and torque retention are all simulated physically through the lever.
What sim rigs are BDH shifters compatible with?
All BDH shifters are compatible with aluminium profile rigs including 8020 and 4040 profiles. The H2SQ, H1 and Active can be top mounted, side mounted or reverse mounted using the integrated clamp system with no additional brackets needed. The S1 is top mount only.
Do BDH shifters work with all sim titles?
Yes. All BDH shifters connect via USB-C and are recognised as standard HID devices. They are plug and play with all major titles including Assetto Corsa, iRacing, rFactor 2, Automobilista 2, DiRT Rally and EA WRC. No drivers are needed for the H2SQ, H1 or S1. The Active Shifter requires SimHub for the force feedback system to work.
Can I use a different gear knob?
Yes. All BDH shifters support third-party gear knobs via an M10 x 1.5 thread.
What warranty do BDH shifters come with?
The H2SQ, H1 and S1 all come with a lifetime warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. The Active Shifter comes with a 2-year warranty, with repair support available beyond that period under BDH's return for repair policy.
Where are BDH shifters made?
All BDH shifters are handcrafted at BDH's facility in York, England. They are UK made and ship directly from York.
