Every other sim shifter is a switch. The BDH Active Shifter is a gearbox that fights back. The world's first physics-based force feedback shifter, it pairs the mechanical foundation of the H1 Bazooka with a servo-driven resistance system wired into SimHub telemetry. Miss a clutch and you feel the gear grind. Hold a gear under load and you feel the torque. None of it is canned. It is live data from your car driving a real mechanical response in your hand, the closest thing to a genuine gearbox sim racing has produced.

The Active Shifter is the most technically advanced sim shifter available. If you drive H-pattern cars in sim racing and want the closest thing to the feel of a real gearbox, nothing else comes close.

Availability: The Active Shifter is currently in production. BDH are aiming to begin shipping by end of April 2026, however a production backlog means new orders will follow existing pre-orders. Contact us to register your interest and we will notify you when ordering opens.

Sequential that pushes back

Adjustable throw length. Adjustable shift force. Real mechanical resistance that builds through the gate exactly like a competition sequential box. The Active Shifter is not a switch with a lever attached. It is an engineered mechanism designed by BDH in the UK that replicates the physical feedback of a real sequential gearbox.

Short-throw for GT3. Long-throw for rally. Dial the force from light road car to heavy competition box. One shifter, every driving style.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the H2SQ, H1, S1 and Active?

The H2SQ is a dual-rail H-pattern and sequential shifter in one unit. It is the most versatile in the range and suits GT, touring car and rally driving across both modes.

The H1 is a dedicated H-pattern only shifter. All design choices are optimised purely for H-pattern feel, inspired by the Ford Escort MkII rally gearbox. The right choice if you only drive H-pattern cars.

The S1 is a dedicated sequential only shifter with a longer rally-focused shaft. It uses the Dynamic Inertia Mechanism to replicate dog-box engagement physics. Built for rally and drift drivers who want a standalone sequential.

The Active is an H-pattern shifter with servo-driven force feedback. Resistance and feedback are driven by live SimHub telemetry in real time. Gear grind, clutch lock-out and torque retention are all simulated physically through the lever.

What sim rigs are BDH shifters compatible with?

All BDH shifters are compatible with aluminium profile rigs including 8020 and 4040 profiles. The H2SQ, H1 and Active can be top mounted, side mounted or reverse mounted using the integrated clamp system with no additional brackets needed. The S1 is top mount only.

Do BDH shifters work with all sim titles?

Yes. All BDH shifters connect via USB-C and are recognised as standard HID devices. They are plug and play with all major titles including Assetto Corsa, iRacing, rFactor 2, Automobilista 2, DiRT Rally and EA WRC. No drivers are needed for the H2SQ, H1 or S1. The Active Shifter requires SimHub for the force feedback system to work.

Can I use a different gear knob?

Yes. All BDH shifters support third-party gear knobs via an M10 x 1.5 thread.

What warranty do BDH shifters come with?

The H2SQ, H1 and S1 all come with a lifetime warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. The Active Shifter comes with a 2-year warranty, with repair support available beyond that period under BDH's return for repair policy.

Where are BDH shifters made?

All BDH shifters are handcrafted at BDH's facility in York, England. They are UK made and ship directly from York.
