Barely. Heavier headsets shift and press into your face every time the platform pitches or rolls. At 170 grams, Dream Air stays put during aggressive motion and causes zero neck fatigue even during endurance stints. If you use VR on motion regularly, the weight difference is significant.

SLAM uses built-in cameras for inside-out tracking and comes with two controllers. No external hardware needed. Lighthouse uses external SteamVR base stations for tracking and does not include controllers. SLAM is simpler to set up. Lighthouse offers slightly more stable tracking and SteamVR-native smart smoothing. Choose based on whether you already own base stations.

Yes. Compatible with iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, rFactor 2, Automobilista 2, MSFS 2024, DCS World, X-Plane 12, and any SteamVR or OpenXR compatible title. Works on PC only, not console.

Pimax lists an RTX 2070 or 2080 series card as the minimum and an RTX 3080 or higher as recommended, with an RTX 4070 Ti or above for the best results. Heavy sims like MSFS and DCS at high settings benefit from a faster card, and the Dream Air's eye tracking with foveated rendering adds headroom in games that support it. Not sure? Pimax makes prescription lens inserts for the Dream Air, but they only cover short sight from -1.0 to -6.0. If you are long-sighted or have astigmatism, HonsVR make custom prescription inserts for every Pimax headset, including the Dream Air. Email us your specific lens requirements and we'll look into it in detail and give you our best recommendation.

At 170g, weight on your face isn't the issue. Some owners find the stock cushion firm on the forehead or notice a little light around the nose. Pimax has made an updated face mask with more forehead and cheek cushioning, free to every Dream Air owner. Your headset arrives with the original mask, so you can use it straight away. To get the new one, raise a ticket in Pimax Play or at pimax.com/support/center with your delivery address and email, and Pimax will send it to you. Pimax sets the timing, so we can't give a fixed date.

The Dream Air runs through Pimax Play on your PC. Pimax updates it often. Now and then an update causes tracking or performance problems, which are usually fixed by updating again or going back a version. Set-up help is included: email us if you get stuck and we'll talk you through it.

1 year manufacturer warranty. If anything goes wrong, contact us rather than Pimax: we handle the claim with Pimax directly and, where we can, send a replacement from our UK stock. This sits on top of your statutory rights.

Yes, directly with Pimax. Once you have switched the headset on for the first time, you can buy an extra 1 or 2 years of cover in Pimax Play, on your own Pimax account. Pimax currently only offers this within 30 days of first activation, so it is worth deciding early. Pimax sets the price and sells it directly, so it is not something we add at checkout. If you ever need to claim, contact us first and we will handle it with Pimax.
