If you already own base stations and SteamVR-compatible controllers (Valve Index controllers, Tundra Trackers, etc.), the Lighthouse version lets you use your existing tracking setup with the Dream Air without buying new controllers.

Lighthouse tracking also enables SteamVR-native features including smart smoothing for better performance headroom. For dedicated sim racing and flight sim setups where the headset sits in the same position every session, two base stations provide rock-solid tracking with zero drift. The headset is identical in every other way: same Sony Micro-OLED panels, same ConcaveView pancake lenses, same 170g weight.
