Most sim racers think motion starts with a platform under the rig. It does not. It starts with what your body feels. How the QS-BT1 Works
Two independent direct drive linear actuators, one per harness strap. Each channel delivers 200N of force with an 8ms response time. The actuators respond to force demand rather than pulling the belt to a preset position. This is the same force-control approach used in Qubic's full motion actuators.
In practice, the difference between force control and position control is feel. Position-controlled tensioners pull the belt tight and hold it there. Force-controlled tensioners apply increasing resistance proportional to the simulated G-force. The result is progressive, natural-feeling harness tension that builds and releases in a way that matches what happens in a real cockpit.
Dual-channel operation means the left and right straps act independently. Under left-hand cornering, the right strap pulls tighter while the left eases. Under braking, both straps pull evenly. The asymmetric feedback adds a spatial dimension that single-channel tensioners cannot reproduce.
Who Should Buy One
As a standalone upgrade. If you have a solid rig, a decent harness, and no motion at all, the QS-BT1 is arguably the best first step into motion immersion. It works on any cockpit, requires no structural modification to your rig, and delivers a level of feedback that you genuinely feel and respond to while racing.
As an addon to a motion platform. Belt tension and platform motion complement each other. The platform moves your body. The harness grounds you in the seat. Combined, the two create a more convincing overall sensation than either one alone. The QS-BT1 pairs with any motion platform, not just Qubic products.
For VR users. When you cannot see your real environment, body cues become more important. Harness tension gives your brain physical reference points that reinforce the visual motion in the headset. VR plus belt tension is a surprisingly effective combination even without a full motion platform.
QS-BT1 vs eMotion eBelt

Is It Worth It?
Yes. Belt tensioners are one of the highest-impact, lowest-complexity upgrades available for a sim rig. The QS-BT1 specifically is the best on the market by specification. Whether the premium over the eMotion eBelt is worth it depends on how much you value the direct drive mechanism and force control capability.
If you are building a Qubic-based motion system and want everything in the same ecosystem, the QS-BT1 is the obvious choice. If you are on a tighter budget and want UK-built simplicity, the eBelt is the smart alternative.
