QS-220 or QS-210? One Costs £1,070 More. Here Is What You Actually Get.

Same brand. Same controller. Same software. Same actuator family. Different stroke length, different price, and a genuinely different motion experience. The Qubic QS-220 and QS-210 are the two most popular products in the Qubic System range, and the question of which one to buy comes up constantly.

This is a straightforward comparison. No hedging, no "it depends on your personal preference." Both products have clear strengths and clear use cases.

Spec Comparison

Stroke length. QS-210 has 50mm. QS-220 has 100mm. Double the travel means double the motion envelope. In practice, this means the QS-220 can reproduce larger positional changes, sustain motion angles for longer, and deliver a more aggressive overall feel.

Controller. Both use the same QS-MC6 controller. Same hardware, same I/O, same configuration options. No difference.

Software. Both run QubicManager. Same motion profiles, same tuning options, same game compatibility. No difference.

Actuator technology. Same linear motor family. The QS-220 uses longer-stroke versions of the same actuator design. Same response time, same precision, same duty cycle rating. The QS-220 actuators are the same ones used in the QS-V20 turnkey cockpit.

Payload capacity. The QS-220 handles a higher payload due to the longer actuator body and mounting geometry. If your rig is heavy (full aluminium profile frame, direct drive wheelbase, triple monitor stand mounted to the rig), the QS-220 has more headroom.

Price. QS-210 is £1,899. QS-220 is £2,969. The £1,070 difference buys you double the stroke length and higher payload capacity.

Who Should Buy the QS-210

You want industrial-grade Qubic motion quality but your budget is under £2,000. Your rig has limited vertical clearance and 50mm of stroke is enough for the motion intensity you want. You are buying your first motion system and want to experience Qubic quality before committing to the higher-end range. Your rig is relatively lightweight and does not need the additional payload capacity of the QS-220.

The QS-210 is not a compromise product. It uses the same actuator technology and controller as the rest of the range. It is a genuinely capable 3DOF system that happens to have a shorter stroke.

Who Should Buy the QS-220

You want the best 3DOF actuator set available at any price. Your rig has the vertical space to accommodate 100mm of travel. You race or fly in scenarios where sustained motion angles matter, including high-downforce cornering, flight simulation with sustained banks and pitch changes, and aggressive kerb riding. You plan to eventually upgrade to a QS-V20 or similar full cockpit system and want the actuators to carry over rather than be replaced.

The QS-220 is the performance sweet spot of the Qubic range. Same actuators as the £17,759 QS-V20, in a standalone set that bolts to your existing rig.

Which One?

If your budget is firm at under £2,000 and you want Qubic quality, the QS-210 is the obvious choice and you will not be disappointed with it.

If you can stretch to £2,969 and your rig has the space, the QS-220 is the better long-term investment. More stroke means more headroom for tuning, a wider range of motion effects, and future-proofing if you eventually build out a larger system.

If you are genuinely unsure, buy the QS-220. Nobody has ever regretted having more stroke length. Plenty of people have wished they had bought the longer-stroke version after living with the shorter one.
