The Stilo WRC DES Zero is the absolute flagship of the Stilo rally range — FIA 8860-2018 certified on the dedicated WRC DES rally platform in Stilo's minimum weight Zero construction. Every available upgrade applied to Stilo's purpose-built rally shell. From 1,050g it is one of the lightest FIA 8860 rally helmets available from any manufacturer.

The WRC DES is not a circuit helmet with a peak fitted — it is a shell designed from scratch around the requirements of professional rally drivers competing at the highest levels of the WRC. The Zero construction reduces the shell weight to its absolute minimum while maintaining full FIA 8860 certification. For sim racers who want the very best rally helmet Stilo makes with no compromise on weight, safety standard or platform authenticity, this is it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the ST6 Rally and WRC DES helmets?

The ST6 Rally is Stilo's circuit platform — the ST6 carbon shell — adapted into an open face rally configuration with a visor and peak. The WRC DES is a completely different shell designed from scratch specifically for rally use. The WRC DES has different internal geometry, different ventilation characteristics and different ergonomics to the ST6 Rally. For serious rally sim racers who want the most authentic rally helmet, the WRC DES is the right choice. The ST6 Rally is still an excellent helmet — it simply comes from a circuit heritage rather than a dedicated rally background.

What do the Carbon, 8860 and Zero versions mean in the rally range?

Carbon versions are certified to FIA 8859 and Snell SA2020 — the standard used across national and international rally championships worldwide. The 8860 versions carry FIA 8860-2018 certification — the highest international standard, used at the top level of the WRC. Zero versions use Stilo's minimum weight construction process — the lightest possible build at the same certification level. For most sim racing applications FIA 8859 is more than sufficient. If you want the absolute top level, choose the 8860 or 8860 Zero versions.

Are these helmets compatible with intercom systems?

Yes. All open face rally helmets in this range are compatible with aftermarket intercom and communication systems. The helmets are designed to accept speaker and microphone fitments in the ear cavities. Contact your intercom supplier for compatibility with specific Stilo helmet models before ordering.

Do these helmets use tear-off visors?

The WRC DES helmets feature a tear-off compatible visor — tear-off strips can be fitted to the visor for real-world stage use. The ST6 Rally helmets use a short visor with an adjustable peak. For sim racing the tear-off system is not relevant but it confirms the WRC DES is built to genuine stage rally specification.

How does Stilo sizing work for rally helmets?

Stilo helmets fit true to size across the rally range as well as the circuit range. Measure the circumference of your head at its widest point and cross-reference against the Stilo size chart. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure — we can advise on the correct size based on your measurement.

Can I return a rally helmet if it does not fit?

Rally helmets can be returned if unused, unmodified and in original packaging with all tags attached. Once worn or with the liner removed they cannot be returned. Contact us for sizing advice before ordering.

Are these helmets suitable for real-world rally use as well as sim racing?

Yes. All helmets in this range carry genuine FIA homologation valid for real-world competition. The WRC DES 8860 and WRC DES Zero are used by professional rally drivers at national and international championship level. Check your series regulations for the specific standard required before purchasing for competition use.

What is the difference between FIA 8859 and FIA 8860 in a rally context?

At national and regional rally level FIA 8859 and Snell SA2020 is the standard used by the vast majority of competitors and is accepted in virtually all championships. FIA 8860-2018 is the highest international standard and is used at WRC level. For sim racing both are equally valid — the choice comes down to what level of certification you want. If you compete in real-world rally alongside sim racing, check your championship regulations for the required standard.
