Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering

Can I trust SimTorque as a retailer?

SimTorque Ltd is a registered UK business (Companies House number 17102663). We are an authorised retailer for every brand we stock, including DOF Reality, eMotion Simulators, Qubic System, Cobra Seats, Bell Racing, Stilo, OMP, RECARO, AIM Technologies, and BDH Race Sim Hardware. Every product is genuine and sourced directly through confirmed trade agreements.

Do you hold stock or are products made to order?

It depends on the product. Motion platforms from DOF Reality ship directly from the manufacturer in Poland. eMotion Simulators and Cobra Seats products are made to order in the UK specifically for you. Helmets, racing seats and accessories through our UK distribution partners are typically available from stock. Check the individual product page for specific lead time information before ordering.

Can I cancel my order after placing it?

For most products yes, within 14 days of delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. However made to order products like eMotion Simulators and Cobra Seats cannot be cancelled once production has started. DOF Reality platforms have a 24 hour cancellation window from the point of order. Please contact us immediately at support@simtorque.co.uk if you need to cancel.

Do prices include VAT?

Yes. All prices shown on SimTorque include UK VAT at 20%. There are no additional charges on UK orders.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Shop Pay and Klarna. All payments are processed securely through Shopify's payment system.

Delivery

How long will my order take to arrive?

Lead times vary by product and supplier. As a general guide — DOF Reality platforms take three to four weeks, eMotion Simulators and Cobra Seats take four to six weeks as they are made to order, helmets and seats from our UK distribution partners typically arrive within two to five working days. Always check the product page for the most accurate estimate.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery is free on all orders to UK mainland addresses. There are no minimum order requirements.

Do you deliver outside the UK mainland?

Currently we deliver to UK mainland addresses only. We do not ship to Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands, Isle of Man, Channel Islands or other offshore UK territories at this time.

What happens when my motion platform is delivered?

Motion platforms are large, heavy items shipped by freight courier. Delivery is kerbside — the driver will get it to your front door or driveway but will not carry it inside. Please make sure you have help available on delivery day. Some platforms exceed 100kg so plan ahead. You need to be home to receive the delivery.

Will I get tracking information?

Yes. You will receive an email with tracking details as soon as your order is dispatched. For made to order products you will also receive an update when production begins.

Products and Compatibility

Which motion platform is right for me?

It depends on your budget and how much immersion you want. 2DOF platforms give you pitch and roll — good entry point. 3DOF adds traction loss which changes how you actually drive. 4DOF adds heave which simulates kerbs and elevation changes. 6DOF gives you full six axis motion. If you are not sure, email us and we will help you choose based on your rig, budget and what you race.

Are DOF Reality platforms compatible with my existing rig?

DOF Reality H series platforms are designed to work with most aluminium profile and steel cockpit rigs. They have multiple mounting hole patterns to accommodate different wheelbase and pedal placements. If you have a specific rig and want to confirm compatibility before ordering, email us with the details.

Do I need a PC for motion platforms?

DOF Reality and Qubic System platforms require a PC running sim racing software such as iRacing, Assetto Corsa, rFactor 2 or similar titles with motion output support. eMotion Simulators products are compatible with both PC and console depending on the model — check the individual product page.

Are the helmets road legal?

No. All helmets in our range are FIA homologated competition helmets designed for motorsport use. They are not approved for road use. They are suitable for circuit racing, track days, rally, sim racing and other motorsport applications.

Are the racing seats suitable for sim racing rigs?

Yes. All seats in our range include mounting bracket options compatible with standard sim racing rig seat sliders and mounting plates. Some seats are used in both real motorsport and sim racing applications.

Can I use an AIM dash display with my sim racing setup?

Yes. AIM MXS, MXP, MXG and MXT displays are compatible with sim racing software via CAN bus or serial connection. They are used by sim racers who want professional level dashboard information. Check the AIM product page for specific sim compatibility details.

Returns and Warranty

What is your return policy?

Most products can be returned within 14 days of delivery in unused, original condition. Made to order products including eMotion Simulators and Cobra Seats cannot be returned once production has started. A 20% handling and inspection fee applies to returns of motion platforms and racing seats. See our full Returns and Refunds policy for details.

Who pays for return shipping?

On unwanted returns, return shipping is the customer's responsibility. For large items like motion platforms, freight return costs can be significant. We cover return shipping on faulty or incorrectly supplied items.

What warranty do products come with?

All products carry the manufacturer warranty from the date of delivery. DOF Reality platforms have a one year hardware warranty. eMotion Simulators have a one year parts and labour warranty. Other products carry the relevant manufacturer warranty — check the product page for specifics.

What do I do if my order arrives damaged?

Photograph the packaging and the product before doing anything else. Do not open it further. Email us at support@simtorque.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery and we will arrange a resolution. Keep the original packaging as it may be needed for a claim.
